My oldest holding the youngest. It is a touching sight! Now for photography pointers I have learned that I love! The best pictures come out in natural light. This was taken in front of the front window. Another thing to look for are Catch Lights. The way the light catches in the eyes. You can simply watch people and how the light hits the eyes when you are talking to them until it becomes more natural. Try to get them to catch the eyes... a bit off centered. It helps add life to the 2 dimentional pictures. Look at Edmond's eyes and you will see what I am speaking of.
Anyway, I really love how this picture turned out.
Here I was also playing with the natural light and focusing. I love that you can add depth by simply focusing on one subject or another. It almost tells a story. Profiles can also add more as well. Here is Nathanya looking out the window... Miriam and Edmond in the background.
What is on Nathanya's mind? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Now this is where I need to work - getting a whole group to all look fantastic! Any pointers? LOL I am just sad that Samuel was napping at the time. I would have had all 5 together if he wasn't. But then again, my sanity was saved by his napping! Hehehehe.
I really wanted a picture of Jared with the others... He did great, but then Edmond was fussing and Miriam decided to watch TV. LOL... I tell you, taking pics of children can be a challenge! One day I will get them all together and all looking like models for me! ROFL... yea right! Jared did fantastic though :)

A picture speaks a thousand words. Those are precious. You have quite a knack. And your kids are soooo adorable. Miriam is a mini you for sure.
Those are beautiful. I am realizing more and more that taking pictures is quite an art. I wonder sometimes if I should go to college to learn how to use the features on my cheap little camera.
Thanks for the tip and I would love to learn more. Oh yeah, some tutorials for Photo Shop would be great too!
Forgot to click the little box...
What little box?
Just the little box below the "choose an identity". It will forward any comments from this post to my email so I wont miss them. That coupled with google reader saves me a lot of time going from post to post to see follow up comment. It is quite handy.
Cool... Thanks!
I really like that pic with the light in their eyes. That does look cool. You seem to be enjoying the whole photography thing. I need to be better about taking pictures of all of the kids, not just the baby. Whenever I get the camera out, it seems they are like magnets and want their pic taken. :-) Tami
I had a comment I tried to send before the "click my little box" tantrum. I can't remember what it was but it was something about doing more tutorials on picture taking. I wonder sometimes if I need to go to school to learn how to use my cheap little camera.
I would also love you to do some tutorials on Photo Shop.
Oh well it went something like that.
Bonnie - I would love too. Maybe after Easter weekend I will get some things up. If there is a technique you are interested in just ask away and I will try to address it. Also, another fantastic place to visit is pregnancy.org. They have a photography board that is fun and informative.
What kind of camera do you have?
